London’s vibrant gastropub scene kicked off in 1991 when David Eyre and Mike Belben took over The Eagle pub in Clerkenwell, just around the corner from our St Paul’s venue. Since then we have seen gastropub menus get ever more ambitious but the very best dishes still retain the array of homely flavours that go perfectly with a glass of beer or wine in a relaxed pub setting.
Proper food from proper chefs
Many of our Chefs have experience in award winning gastropubs and have handpicked some of their favourite dishes from the vibrant gastropub scene. You’ll learn the culinary skills, tips and techniques to recreate warm and relaxing gastropub classics at home.
As with all our other cooking classes, there are a range of different class lengths to choose from. With each class you’ll learn to make at least a main and a dessert. You will be able to explore other dishes in our longer classes.
Both our ateliers have spacious informal dining areas, so after your class you’ll be able to enjoy everything you make in a relaxed environment with a drink from our bar and great company from your fellow cooks – just as Gastropub should be!
