Soda bread Recipe

A quick and easy Irish loaf made with a mixture of brown and white flour and buttermilk.

Ingredients
Pour people
  • Wholemeal flour : 180 g
  • Strong white bread flour : 180 g
  • Bicarbonate of soda : 5 g
  • Fine salt : 7 g
  • Buttermilk : 285 ml
  • Freshly ground black pepper : 6 Turn
  • Unsalted butter : 25 g
Method
  • ETAPE 1

    Preheat the oven to 200'C.

  • ETAPE 2

    Melt the butter.

  • ETAPE 3

    Mix all of the dry ingredients together. Add the buttermilk and the melted butter and mix to form a dough.

  • ETAPE 4

    Shape into a round loaf or 6 rolls on a floured work surface.

  • ETAPE 5

    Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 200'C. If making rolls cook for 20 minutes.
