Penne pasta served with a classic arrabiata sauce of tomatoes, chilli and basil.

  • Penne : 500 g
  • Olive oil : 40 ml
  • Tomato(es) : 600 g
  • Onion(s) : 2 whole
  • Dried red chilli(s) : 3 whole
  • Basil : 6 leaf
  • Coarse salt : 30 g
  • Fine salt : 6 pinch(es)


  • ETAPE 1

    Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta according to the time indicated on the packet (in general 10 to 12 minutes).

  • ETAPE 2

    Peel, quarter and deseed the tomatoes.
    Peel and thinly slice the onions.
    Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan, add the chillies and the onions. Cook until the onions are soft. Add the tomatoes, a pinch of salt and cook for a further. Add the basil and the cooked pasta.

  • ETAPE 3

    Serve immediately.

Chef's tip

«Adjust the amount of chilli according to your taste. For a super quick sauce, use tinned chopped tomatoes and add some finely chopped garlic.»
