  • 1To make the dough:

    Mix the sugar and egg with the milk in a large jug, stir it until the sugar has dissolved, add the flour to a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, add the salt and baking powder. Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the milk mix. Start on a low speed and turn up as the mixture comes together, take care not to overwork it or it will become to elastic.It should be a soft , just mixed dough.
    Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, wrap in cling film and allow to rest for 15 minutes at room temperature.

  • 2To shape and cook the bread:

    Preheat the oven to 250'C and place 2 flat baking sheets in the oven to heat up.
    Cut the dough into 6 small pieces and then roll into small balls. Dust with flour and then shape the dough into individual naan breads using your fingers and the heel of your hand.

    Place the naan breads on the the trays in the oven and cook for 5 minutes.
    Serve immediately.

Classic Indian flat bread, traditionally cooked in a Tandoor. Great to go with a curry or dahl.
