Marzipan Easter rabbits Recipe

Ingredients for people

  • Caster sugar : 250 g
  • Whole egg(s) : 2 whole
  • Ground almonds : 300 g
  • Powdered food colouring : 4 pinch(es)

    Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl using your hands. The mixture will be wet when you begin mixing it but it will gradually become a firm ball.

    Once the ingredients are all mixed well, split the marzipan into two balls. Colour the marzipan with two separate colourings. Recommended colours would be pink, yellow or a light grey shade

    Using one colour, make a 1cm in diameter ball and flatten it down so it has a flat base. Then make a smaller ball using the same colour. Keep it round and sit it on top of the large ball. Once both of the balls are made, Make three small balls using the different colour marzipan (pin head size) and place them onto the small ball to form a face. Finally make ear shapes out of the same colour as the eyes and place them each side of the small ball.

    Place the rabbits on top of cakes or biscuits.

«Make a ball from the icing, slightly larger than the eyes and nose and stick it to the back of the large ball to form the rabbit's tail.»
