Superfood juice Recipe

Ingredients for people

  • Savoy cabbage(s) : 0.25 whole
  • Carrot(s) : 3 whole
  • Apple(s) : 3 whole
  • Raw red beetroot : 3 whole
  • Orange(s) : 3 whole
  • Fresh ginger : 50 g
  • Lemon(s) : 1 whole
  • Honey : 2 tbsp
Method

    Peel off the dark, outer leaves from the savoy cabbage, and wash. Keep the rest of the cabbage for another use. Cut out the tough stem from each leaf, and roughly chop so that the pieces can fit in the juicer's hopper.

    Wash and scrub the beetroots, carrots and ginger. Remove the tops and tails, then chop into smallish chunks.

    Wash and core the apple, then chop into chunks.

    Peel the oranges, and separate the segments.

    Feed all the ingredients into the juicer's hopper.

    Taste for seasoning: if the smoothie needs more freshness, add more lemon juice; if it is too punchy, add some honey.

    Served immediately.

Chef's tip

«If making a smoothie instead of a juice, you may prefer to peel all the fruits and vegetables, before chopping finely. You may need to add water or juice to the blend if it is too thick»

Juicing is all the rage right now, so dig out the juicer from the back of the cupboard. However, if you do not have a juicer, you can use the same ingredients in a blender to make smoothie.
