Wright's Soda bread Recipe

Ingredients for people


    Part one of the recipe
  • Strong white bread flour : 225 g
  • Wrights Strong Wholemeal Flour : 225 g
  • Fine salt : 6 g
  • Bicarbonate of soda : 10 g
  • Semi-skimmed milk : 340 ml
  • Caster sugar : 5 g
  • Dried cranberries : 75 g
  • Pecan nut(s) : 75 g

  • Part two of the recipe
  • Wrights Plain flour : 20 g
  • Unsalted butter : 100 g
Method

    Line a baking tray with baking paper

    Preheat an oven to 220 *

    Place all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix together by hand.

    Add the milk and mix together to form a dough.

    Do Not Overmix!

    Shape into a ball on the lined baking tray and gently flatten out.

    Cut into 6 segments with a dough scraper but do not seperate.
    Dust with the extra flour and bake immediately in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

    Serve warm with butter.
