Tamagoyaki Recipe

Sweet Japanese omelette, very fun to make it and also amazing to taste.

Ingredients
Pour people
  • Whole egg(s) : 6 whole
  • Mirin : 10 ml
  • Soy sauce : 10 ml
  • Caster sugar : 20 g
  • Fine salt : 3 pinch(es)
Method
  • ETAPE 1

    Beat all the ingredients together in a bowl.
    Put some oil on a pan and bring in to a medium heat. Make sure you have some oil and paper on the side to keep your pan oiled during the whole cooking process.

    Add some of the egg mixture to your pan, enough to cover the whole surface with a really thin layer, once the eggs are cooked but still a bit liquid on the top, with the help of a palette knife or chopsticks, roll the omelette to one side of the pan, add some more oil and spread it evenly with some paper towel, add more eggs mix. Repeat the process until all the egg mixture is used.

    Once the omelette is finished transfer it to a sushi mat to give it the desired shape .

  • 2. TO SERVE

    Cut the omelette in 6 equal portions, top it with some sushi rice and soya sauce.

Chef's tip

«This omelette is usually made in square pans but it perfectly works in round pan as well. Try adding some other flavours like spring onions or nori for a difference taste. »
