Banh Coun (Vietnamese crepe) Recipe

A steamed pancake made from rice flour, tapioca flour and water.

Ingredients

Pour people
  • Rice flour : 140 g
  • Tapioca flour : 125 g
  • Water : 600 ml
  • Rapeseed oil : 15 ml

Method

  • ETAPE 1

    Put the 600ml of water in a pan and bring to the boil.

    Mix the flours in a bowl and add the boiling water. Mix

  • ETAPE 3

    Then just warm the 550 water and add to the bowl with the oil. Leave to rest for 30min.

  • ETAPE 4

    Heat a non stick or crepe pan to medium. Put about half a ladle of mix into the centre of the pan and swirl around to get a nice even mix. Cover this with a lid and leave to cook for 40 seconds or until set.

  • ETAPE 5

    Flip the mix out onto a wooden board and leave to cool.
