L’atelier des Chefs is a cookery school and events venue with a site in London’s West End and a second site in the City of London. We are one of the largest cookery schools in the UK, welcoming over 24,000 clients to our Wigmore Street and St Paul's units in 2012.

L’atelier des Chefs also has a significant and fast-growing events business. We host corporate team building and client hospitality events, along with PR and product launches. Our strategically located venues provide a professional yet relaxed environment and can accommodate groups of 12-180 people.

In addition we have immediate and sustained expansion plans both in London and throughout the UK.



Role:


The successful candidate will assist with the smooth running of the cookery school and will be responsible across many aspects of the organization and direct management of areas of the venue. Responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming clients and acting as a L’atelier des Chefs Brand Ambassador.
• An understanding of and passion for sales.
• Development of relationships with local businesses to drive awareness, public class occupancy rates and to develop the notoriety of the wider L’atelier des Chefs concept.
• Organisation and hosting of public classes and private events.
• Stock and purchase management.
• Liaising with the chefs and Front of House to ensure the smooth running of public classes and private events.
• Investigate the development of new classes and event based on strategic analysis of historical proprietary data, market trends and discussions within existing database.

Candidate:


The successful candidate will be confident, hard-working and adept at multi-tasking. We are looking for a confident and motivated self-starter with a demonstrable will to win and a desire to develop as a key contributor to the growth of the business. Prior experience within the hospitality industry is not essential, though a background within sales and a successful track record will be beneficial.

Experience of working in a team and excellent communication skills are essential, as is as the ability to work efficiently within a busy and rapidly changing environment. L’atelier des Chefs is a fast moving and highly innovative business, attributes which will be highly valued and developed in the successful candidate. Fluency in English and the ability to interact with people in a confident manner is essential.

L’atelier des Chefs offers interactive cookery classes and bespoke events. We are looking for someone with a passion for food and willingness to share this passion with our customers.

We require a minimum of 5 years professional experience cooking at the highest level. You need to be flexible, organized, an excellent communicator, friendly and approachable.

You will be teaching cooking classes ranging from 30 minutes to 4 hours to novice cooks, offering a truly interactive and hands-on experience to our clients. You will need to have a broad knowledge of different types of cuisines, ranging from French and Thai cuisine to sushi and macaroon making.

In addition to our current our Sales and Events Managers, one based at each venue. You will be the driving force behind sales and head of generating leads for the UK business.

Role:

Inbound sales:
Distributing enquiries as per venues and overseeing the conversion
Dealing with overflow of enquiries that come via website, phone, referrals, etc.

Outbound sales:
Planning and implementing proactive sales strategy (Newsletters, trade shows, call plans, show case events, etc.)
Constant development of the BtoB offer and proactive sales to existing and prospective clients
Analysis of ROI of all sales activities

Accounts management:
Ensuring all payments are received in a timely manner
Supporting and overseeing Sales and events managers in their tasks of taking payments
B2B end of month accounting

Venue Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of a busy cookery school and will be responsible across many aspects of the organization. They will directly manage the team and the venue.

Business activities:

Taking responsibility for the business performance of the atelier
Analysing and planning atelier turnover and profitability.
Preparing reports at the end of the week, including occupancy levels, KPIs and sales.
Creating and executing plans for department sales, profit and staff development.
Driving gift card and retail sales within the team.

Front-of-house:

Coordinating the entire operation of the atelier.
Managing staff and providing them with feedback.
Ensuring customer service levels are exceptional and queries responded to promptly.
Meeting and greeting customers and acting as L'atelier des Chefs brand ambassador
Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
Organising and supervising the shifts of the FOH.
Liaising with the chefs and Front of House to ensure the smooth running of public classes and private events.
Managing the retail, stock levels and merchandising of the store with your team.

Housekeeping:

Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required.
Helping in any area of the atelier when circumstances dictate.
Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be confident, hard-working and adept at multi-tasking. We are looking for a confident and motivated self-starter with a demonstrable will to win and a desire to develop as a key contributor to the growth of the business. At least 5+ years of working in the hospitality industry is essential and a background within sales and a successful track record will be beneficial.

They must have experience of managing a team of staff. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is as the ability to work efficiently within a busy and rapidly changing environment.
