We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our fast growing London team.

L’atelier des Chefs is a cookery school and events venue with a site in London’s West End and a second site in the City of London. We are one of the largest cookery schools in the UK, welcoming over 24,000 clients to our Wigmore Street and St Paul's units in 2012.

L’atelier des Chefs also has a significant and fast-growing events business. We host corporate team building and client hospitality events, along with PR and product launches. Our strategically located venues provide a professional yet relaxed environment and can accommodate groups of 12-180 people.

In addition we have immediate and sustained expansion plans both in London and throughout the UK.



Role:


The successful candidate will assist with the smooth running of the cookery school and will be responsible across many aspects of the organization and direct management of areas of the venue. Responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming clients and acting as a L’atelier des Chefs Brand Ambassador.
• An understanding of and passion for sales.
• Development of relationships with local businesses to drive awareness, public class occupancy rates and to develop the notoriety of the wider L’atelier des Chefs concept.
• Organisation and hosting of public classes and private events.
• Stock and purchase management.
• Liaising with the chefs and Front of House to ensure the smooth running of public classes and private events.
• Investigate the development of new classes and event based on strategic analysis of historical proprietary data, market trends and discussions within existing database.

Candidate:


The successful candidate will be confident, hard-working and adept at multi-tasking. We are looking for a confident and motivated self-starter with a demonstrable will to win and a desire to develop as a key contributor to the growth of the business. Prior experience within the hospitality industry is not essential, though a background within sales and a successful track record will be beneficial.

Experience of working in a team and excellent communication skills are essential, as is as the ability to work efficiently within a busy and rapidly changing environment. L’atelier des Chefs is a fast moving and highly innovative business, attributes which will be highly valued and developed in the successful candidate. Fluency in English and the ability to interact with people in a confident manner is essential.

What will be your missions ?

Among the venue, you will be:

*A creator of culinary emotions, You will relay your passion for food with great teaching skills, making sure all classes and corporate events are well coordinated. Be part of l'Atelier des Chefs' culinary identity by creating recipes and classes whilst assuring customer service, quality and customer satisfaction

*King of operations: Handle the operational activity of the workshop, making sure all classes and events are fully prepared for. You will also program the seasonal classes and consult our customers on our classes and retail

*True Manager: In charge of suppliers, ordering and deliveries

Manage the kitchen team: In charge of permanent staff and freelancers. Also ensuring the profitability of the venue (Food cost, staff cost...)

+You will bring in your own personality and you own culinary identity.

Who are you?

You have a confirmed Chef de partie or sous Chef experience.

You have 3 to 5 experience in a high-end restaurant

Great communication skills, organised, personable, passionate, are among your characteristics ? You are motivated and dynamic? Then we are meant to work together.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of a busy cookery school and will be responsible across many aspects of the organization. They will directly manage the team and the venue.

Business activities:

Taking responsibility for the business performance of the atelier
Analysing and planning atelier turnover and profitability.
Preparing reports at the end of the week, including occupancy levels, KPIs and sales.
Creating and executing plans for department sales, profit and staff development.
Driving gift card and retail sales within the team.

Front-of-house:

Coordinating the entire operation of the atelier.
Managing staff and providing them with feedback.
Ensuring customer service levels are exceptional and queries responded to promptly.
Meeting and greeting customers and acting as L'atelier des Chefs brand ambassador
Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
Organising and supervising the shifts of the FOH.
Liaising with the chefs and Front of House to ensure the smooth running of public classes and private events.
Managing the retail, stock levels and merchandising of the store with your team.
Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required.
Helping in any area of the atelier when circumstances dictate.

Desired Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will be confident, hard-working and adept at multi-tasking. We are looking for a confident and motivated self-starter with a demonstrable will to win and a desire to develop as a key contributor to the growth of the business. At least 5+ years of working in the hospitality industry is essential and a background within sales and a successful track record will be beneficial.

They must have experience of managing a team of staff. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is as the ability to work efficiently within a busy and rapidly changing environment. L’atelier des Chefs is a fast moving and highly innovative business, attributes which will be highly valued and developed in the successful candidate. Last year we taught over 30,000 people how to master a wide range of cuisines and skills across both public cookery class and private cooking events. We offer the ultimate cook-and-dine experience with interactive cookery classes, bespoke cooking events, and a wide selection of high-quality cooking equipment from our retail store.

What you need
You should have at least 1-2 years’ experience in events or hospitality industry, be super organised and have a can-do attitude. Attention to detail and strong customer focus are essential to this role. The Role

As an Event Manager you will be joining a small B2B team that last year delivered over 650 cooking events in our two central London venues and 35 mobile cooking experiences around the UK.

Your responsibilities would include…

• Point of contact with the client as soon as they sign the contract
• Complete client and event management
• Client meetings in store and upsells
• Taking deposit payment
• Liaise with Chefs and design bespoke events
• Liaise with suppliers and create function sheets
• Host events
• Creating event invoices day after the event and month end accounting for events
• Maintain client relationships / ensure repeat business
• Set up of events and constant communication with staff for operational delivery of the events
• B2B pop up management and sourcing of pop up locations
• Taking reactive enquiries and seeing sale through to completion
• Being a brand ambassador
